Donald Frank Cheadle Jr. (born November 29, 1964) is an actor who plays James Rhodes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and reprises the role for What If...?.
Biography[]
Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard, who played the role in the first Iron Man film, in the role following a pay dispute, though it is unclear whether it was Marvel or Howard who ultimately cut ties. He played the role in Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier while he is set to reprise the role for Armor Wars.
He is most famous for his Academy Award nominated role as the Rwandan hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina in the historical drama film Hotel Rwanda as well as Basher Tarr in Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen.
