When two humans named Ariel and Bartow from the year 2593 landed on present day Earth, Doctor Octopus attempted to steal their time ship. However, Doctor Octopus was stopped by the Spider-Friends and he quickly escaped. Because the space ship was damaged the Spider-Friends, Ariel and Bartow had to leave it to get the parts they needed. When they left Doctor Octopus sole the ship. When the Spider-Friends, Ariel and Bartow returned with the items to repair the ship, Doctor Octopus ordered that they be given to him or else he would destroy the ship and Ariel and Bartow would never be able to return to their time. As added insurance that he was given what he wanted, Doctor Octopus kidnapped Bartow. However, the Spider-Friends were able to capture Doctor Octopus and rescue Bartow.

Doctor Octopus stole a ruby from a museum, a piece of quartz from Eastern State University, and a diamond from the New York Diamond Exchange and used them to upgrade his mechanical tentacles. The ruby was used to create a laser that could be fired from the tentacles. The quartz was used to make a sonic weapon that was built into the arms. Doctor Octopus used the diamond to make a buzz saw that he built into one of his tentacles. Doctor Octopus used his new tentacles to steal oil. Doctor Octopus planned to eventually control all the world's oil. However, Spider-Man was able to capture Doctor Octopus.

Gamma Base had a very powerful radioactive substance called Perium-99 and Doctor Octopus planned to steal it. Doctor Octopus had his men invade Gamma Base and distract the guards while he stole the Perium-99. Doctor Octopus intended to place the Perium-99 in a satellite and launch it into space. From the satellite the radiation from the Perium-99 would radiate the world turning everyone exposed to the radiation into hideous mutants. Doctor Octopus nearly succeeded in launching the satellite into space. However, Hulk arrived and defeated Doctor Octopus by using his strength to tie Doc Ock's mechanical arms together. However, the rocket launched into the sky and Hulk leaped after it. Hulk caused the rocket to crash into the desert. Doctor Octopus was then arrested by the U.S. Army.

Later, Doctor Octopus formed the Sinister Six. Around this time Spider-Man had gone missing and Deadpool had joined the Spider-Friends. When the Sinister Six robbed the Federal Reserve the Spider-Friends went to stop them. Deadpool told Iceman and Firestar that the Sinister Six had killed Spider-Man. In their blind rage Iceman and Firestar began to kill the members of the Sinister Six. Iceman killed Doctor Octopus by impaling in the chest with giant icicle. However, after all the Sinister Six were dead it was revealed that Spider-Man was still alive and Deadpool had lied to Iceman and Firestar.[1]
