Doctor Manta is a humanoid beetle that used slave labor to mine a precious element.
Biography[]
Doctor Manta lived on an island known as The Depths of Time. Doctor Manta sent several giant robot beetles to a nearby city and had them kidnap the residents and brought them to a mine. Doctor Manta forced the people he abducted to mine an element called labicide which he claimed would make him "the power of the universe". However, one of the prisoners sent out a distress message that was received by Spider-Man. Once all the labicide was mined, Doctor Manta had his slaves load it onto a rock. Doctor Manta then unleashed the Mountain Monster to kill Spider-Man. However, Spider-Man stole Manta's space ship that was full of the labicide and flew it into the Mountain Monster and it exploded.

Doctor Manta was originally a character from Rocket Robin Hood that was later used in Spider-Man.
He was voiced by Carl Banas.
