Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs are a family of extinct reptiles.
Description
Dinosurs first appeared during the Triassic period. They ranged in size from the giant brontosaurus to the Lilliputian velociraptors. Most were herbivores, like the iguanodon, triceratops, stegosaurus and ankylosaurus, while others ate meat, like the T Rex, allosaurus and carnotaurus. Close relatives of the dinosaurs inlcuded the pterodactyls and the plesiousaurs. The dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago; this is popularly theorized as the result of a meteor impact. Their demise ultimately paved the way for mammals to rule the planet, although their descendants-birds and modern reptiles-survive, alongside amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
