Dr. David Livingstone was a famous missionary and explorer.
At some point he was in Africa when explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley came looking for him. Upon finding the doctor he uttered the now famous phrase "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?".
That phrase has entered popular lexicon and has been referenced by Beast upon meeting Magneto in prison, Chameleon when he freed Doctor Octopus from his prison cell, and Spider-Man when he found John Jameson on Counter-Earth.
