Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, was a member of the Avengers before being turned into a zombie.

Biography[]

Hawkeye (Pre-Zombie) (Cinematic Universe)

When Hank Pym went to the Quantum Realm to try and save his wife Janet van Dyne he was infected with a quantum virus that turned him into a zombie. Upon returning to Earth, Hank infected others with the virus.

Within twenty-four hours the entire Pacific Northwest was infected with the quantum virus and had turned into zombies. The Avengers responded to a zombie attack at the Golden Gate Bridge. However, the zombies overwhelmed the Avengers and several of them, including Hawkeye, were infected with the quantum virus and turned into zombies.

Later, upon learning that a survivor camp in New Jersey had supposedly discovered a cure, a group of survivors consisting of Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, Wasp, Okoye, Sharon Carter, James Barnes, Happy Hogan, and Kurt Goreshter went to Grand Central Station to travel there by train.

While Peter and Kurt tried to repair a subway train, the others split up to secure the perimeter. Happy and Sharon were paired up. While doing their search, Happy was shot in the shoulder by a grapple arrow and pulled into the shadows. A zombified Clint Barton then shot Sharon in the shoulder with an arrow which pinned her to the wall. As Hawkeye aimed his arrow at Sharon for a kill shot she was able to escape with only seconds to spare.

Background[]

This version of Hawkeye is unvoiced. In other episodes of What If...?, Hawkeye is voiced by Jeremy Renner who reprised his role from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
