Chameleon is a criminal that can disguise himself as anyone.
Biography[]
Chameleon fought several superheroes through his criminal career such as the Spider-Friends, Captain America, Namor, Shanna and Doctor Strange and each time he was defeated.
Revenge[]
Chameleon anonymously sent invitations to the Spider-Friends, Captain America, Namor, Shanna and Doctor Strange inviting them to a mansion on Wolf Island for a get together. Chameleon planned to get revenge on all of them for foiling his plans. As soon as all the heroes got to Wolf Island Mansion, Chameleon trapped them inside with a force field. One by one Chameleon began to capture each hero by using his disguises to make himself look like one of the superheroes. However, Spider-Man was able to free all the heroes and together they defeated Chameleon.
Seeing Ghosts[]
When Chameleon was given a new cellmate, he learned that he was the cousin of the man that killed Ben Parker. Chameleon knew that Ben Parker was the uncle of Peter Parker who took pictures of Spider-Man for the Daily bugle. Chameleon then began to hatch a plan to get revenge on Spider-Man and take over New York City's criminal underworld.
After escaping prison, Chameleon began to stalk May Parker disguised as Ben Parker. May believed she was seeing Ben's ghost and went to see a medium who was really Chameleon is disguise. During their fake séance, Chameleon disguised himself as Ben while May had her eyes closed. Chameleon, as Ben, told May that it was Spider-Man's fault that he was dead and that Spider-Man had to be turned over to the medium she was seeing or else his spirit could not rest in peace. Chameleon then gave May a special necklace that would project a hologram of Ben and would take to her, but this was really Chameleon. May tried several times to kill Spider-Man but failed each time.
During the final time that May tried to kill Spider-Man, Spider-Man saw a mysterious van drive away and he followed it. When the van got to a hideout Spider-Man saw that Chameleon was the driver and realized that he was behind May seeing Ben's spirit. However, May had snuck into the back of Chameleon's van. May then attacked Chameleon who was disguised as Spider-Man. Shortly afterward Spider-Man captured Chameleon and returned him to prison.

Chameleon was voiced by John H. Mayer in Spider-Man and by Hans Conried in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
Chameleon's voice was dubbed over by James Arnold Taylor in the Marvel Mash-Up shorts.
