Cable is a time traveling mutant and mercenary. He spends much of his time trying to take down the evil mutant Apocalypse in his future of New York City 3999 AD.

Powers and Abilities
Although in the comics his mutant powers are telephatic and telekinesis, he is only seen using it once (Time Fugitives Part 2) to get his weapon back while struggling with Wolverine.
He specialises in high tech plasma weaponry such as rifles and grenades.
He also has a special A.I Computer that can give hin all the information he needs and transport him to certain destinations in time.

He has a great devotion for his only son Tyler and he appreciates his team Clan Chosen and help from the X Men.
Background
Cable was voiced by Lawrence Bayne. Bayne also voiced Zedaro, Fabian Cortez, and Captain America (in his appearance on X-Men).
In the comics Cable's name is Nathan Christopher Charles Summers and he is the son of Scott Summers and the clone of Jean Grey. None of this is referenced in the series. Though it is alluded to when his A.I. is telling him about the X-Men and he seems to already know about Scott and Jean.
In season one Cable is shown to be simply a highly skilled mercenary. In season two and on he is suddenly a time traveler and has a cybernetic arm. Though the second version is more true to the comic book character, it is never explained how this happened in the series. There is a similar inconsistency with Angel.
