Buzz Mason was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. that later betrayed the organization.
Biography[]
Buzz Mason used mind control on Lightwave and had her commit robberies of high-tech equipment for him. This made Lightwave look like a traitor to S.H.I.E.L.D.. Buzz Mason was using this stolen equipment to build a machine to increase Lightwave's powers. With her increased powers Lightwave could take control of the GuardStar defense satellite and Buzz Mason would have control over Lightwave.
Buzz Mason later recruited the Spider-Friends to stop Lightwave. However, this was not his true intention. Buzz Mason really recruited the Spider-Friends so that they would report back to him so he would always know where they were and report their location to Lightwave. Mason nearly succeeded in taking over GuardStar. However, when Mason almost kill Iceman this broke Lightwave's brainwashing and she rescued him. The Spider-Friends then turned Buzz Mason over to S.H.I.E.L.D. who placed him under arrest.
