Black Panther is a title used by the King of Wakanda. It was passed through generations. The two most recent to take the title were T'Chaka and T'Challa, the later of whom joined the Avengers.
History[]
T'Chaka was the Black Panther and was confronted by Man-Ape of the White Gorilla Tribe. Man-Ape secretly used Klaw to defeat T'Chaka and gain the throne. T'Chaka's son T'Challa witnessed the events and then took the title after his father died. After these events, he returned with the Avengers and defeated Man-Ape. He then inherited the Wakandan throne but returned to the United States with the Avengers.
