Omar was part of the program to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that created Captain America. However, realizing that racial tensions would not allow for a black superhero, Omar let socialite Daniel Lyons be the public figure while he fought the bad guys.

After Captain America disappeared with Red Skull, Omar and the remaining Six protected the doomsday device.

When the Insidious Six tried to find the device, Omar rejoined the Six, the freed Captain America, and Spider-Man to stop them.

Black Marvel was voiced by Paul Winfield.

Because of the need to hid his skin, his costume was changed to be closer to Black Panther, another African American hero.

In the Comics

Black Marvel actually is Daniel Lyons. Omar is an original character.
