Biography[]
Betty was engaged to Bruce Banner. They both worked for the U.S. Army and Betty helped Bruce during the test of his gamma bomb. However, Bruce was caught in the blast of the gamma bomb while saving Rick Jones.
Betty was later kidnapped by an alien android called Number One who was after Banner's gamma ray formula. However, Betty was rescued by the Hulk.
Betty was also captured by Doctor Octopus when he took over Gamma Base. However, Betty caused a laboratory explosion and was able to escape in the confusion.
General Ross and Betty were later taken hostage by Spymaster when he stole a new laser weapon from Gamma Base called the Solar Crystallizer. However, Betty and General Ross were rescued by the Hulk who also managed to stop Spymaster.
Later when Betty was in Paris for a science conference the French government gave her a key that opened a hidden vault that contained gold. A shipment of gold was coming from the United States to Paris and Betty was given orders to meet with Paris' Minister of Finance who had an identical key. Together, Betty and the Minister of Finance would use their keys to open the secret vault and get the gold safely inside. However, Quasimodo learned of the gold shipment and kidnapped Betty. Betty was then rescued by the Hulk.
Betty was once placed under Puppet Master's mental control by using his atomic clay. However, Betty was freed from Puppet Master's control when Rick destroyed his clay sculpture.
Betty was able to stop HYDRA from releasing pollution into the air so they could hold the United States for ransom.
Betty was chosen by NASA to pilot a shuttle into space. However, her nephew, Jonah, had a vision that the shuttle would crash. The day of the launch the rocket started to go down. However, the Hulk had been trapped on the rocket. Hulk transformed back into Bruce Banner and he and Betty parachuted from the rocket right before it crashed into a mountain. Bruce then revealed who the sabature was and he was arrested.
When it was believed that Hulk had killed Bruce Banner, Betty stole a fighter jet from the army base and went after the green skinned creature. The jet's radar locked onto Banner's gamma energy and Betty fired a gamma missile at Bruce not knowing that it was him. However, the gamma energy from the missile cause Bruce to transform into the Hulk. After transforming into the Hulk, Betty continued to fire at him. Betty was able to capture Hulk and used a machine on him to return Bruce Banner.
