Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher is an upcoming film by Marvel Entertainment to be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Download March 25th, 2014.
Jeph Loeb first teased the idea of a follow-up to Iron Man: Rise of Technovore in January 16th, 2013. [1] It was officially announced on January 21st, 2014.
The official sypnosis is:
- After interfering with a top secret mission, the Punisher is taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Avenger Black Widow. At the orders of Director Nick Fury, Punisher and Black Widow are sent on a mission to stop Leviathan, a global terrorist organization that plans to sell stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to the highest bidder. Now, the vigilante and spy must work together to prevent this technology from falling into the wrong hands. The fate of the world, and of the Avengers, hangs in the balance. [2]
Jennifer Carpenter will voice Black Widow/Natasha Romanova and Brian Bloom will play Punisher/Frank Castle. The film will also feature Thor, Iron Man/Tony Stark, War Machine/James Rhodes, Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, Hulk, and Hawkeye/Clint Barton.
The Blu-ray will have a conceptual art gallery while the DVD will have two featurettes titled Espionage and Punishment, about the making of the film, and The Vigilante Vs. The Spy, about the comic book history of the two title characters.
