Astonishing X-Men is a motion comic series by Marvel Knights Animation that was adapted from Joss Whedon's run on the Astonishing X-Men comic book series.
Story[]
Astonishing X-Men follows the X-Men as they fight an alien named Ord who has come to Earth to cure all mutants because it was preordained that a mutant from Earth would destroy his homeworld of Breakworld. Later, when the Danger Room gains sentience it attacks the X-Men. In the "Torn" story arc, the X-Men are manipulated by the Hellfire Club. In the final season the X-Men must save Earth from the leaders of Breakworld.

The Astonishing X-Men motion comic is adapted from Joss Whedon's four volume run on the Astonishing X-Men comic book series, which he wrote from issue one to issue twenty-four which was published between 2004 and 2007.
The episode "MarvelFest Extravaganza!" from Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?! was made to promote the Astonishing X-Men motion comic. In the episode characters from the Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?! auditioned to voice characters in Astonishing X-Men with M.O.D.O.K. being cast as Emma Frost.
The first episode of Astonishing X-Men premiered at the 2009 MarvelFest which was held at Union Square in New York City.
