Asgard is a realm connected to Earth through the Bifrost Bridge. It was ruled by Odin who sent his son Thor to Earth to learn humanity. Thor joined the Avengers but left when his father died. He took over as king and sent his daughter Torunn to Earth with a sword so she would also learn humility. Torunn wanted Thor to come and take her away but he left her there. When she sacrificed her life to stop Ultron Thor saved her and brought her to Asgard. Though she wanted to stay, she decided to return to Earth to be with her families. Thor gave her a suit of armor and returned her to Earth, saying that she could return anytime.
